I went book shopping!

Image
oh yes...MPH was selling all books at a discount to all its members! So on Saturday, I went book shopping and bought 4 books for less than RM100! These were the titles I bought: 1) Starbook by Ben Okri 2) The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger (reading now) 3) On the Road by John Kerouac 4) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kessey Cool deal right? haha It's called the JIMAT Sale. Wow...not sure if I should celebrate bad times, cuz it's time like this that you see great deals everywhere! If you walk around the malls these days, you'll see many 'SAVINGS' deals around...clothes, food, furniture :) but. i didn't get any of those. only books hah.

The Glue That Holds Us Together

Image
My cousin sis sent this story to me. Thanks Esther for sharing it! :) This is a pretty neat story and an interesting thing that few of us know. It's brief, so please read. (FROM A DOCTOR) A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely) on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio .. And I was BLOWN AWAY! I want to share what I learned.... But I fear not being able to convey it as well as I want. I will share anyway. He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is... How He spoke the universe into being... How He breathes stars out of His mouth that are huge raging balls of fire.. Etc. Etc. Then He went on to speak of how this star-breathing, universe creating God ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder. At this point I am LOVING it (fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know.) .... And I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school as I learned more and more about God's handiwork.

Happy Birthday My Dear Friend...

Image
Sunday is one of my dear friend's birthday. He is one of those weird people whom I met during my working days in Singapore. Well yeah, he did make my life a living hell there, but without him I wouldn't have appreciated the good days (hehehe dun boil ah dun boil LOL) so I guess, you can say I kinda treasured him as my friend. But at the same time, I hated him too. You know lah, those love-hate relationship :P Anyways, we went our separate ways, he continued to do what he does best (bitching), and I continued to do what I do best (the list is too long :P). And so we lost touch for a long while. Many cow years later, out of the blue, he 'buzzed' me on...where else...FACEBOOK! Man, I really thought I was able to like 'sneak' out of his life for good. Mana tau, he hunted me down! No thanks to FB Sighhhhh.... So ok, to cut the long story short, we were keeping in touch again. Not that it did me any good. He made my blood boil (like before), he made me spend more $, h

Some Pretty Interesting Quotes :)

I thought some of you may enjoy this. Found this little Christian magazine this afternoon at a Chinese restaurant near my office, and on the last page, there were some quotes from famous people. These are my favourite few: "The reward for comformity was that everyone like you except yourself" - Rita Mae Brown "It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." - J.K. Rowling "Age is a question of mind over matter. If you don't mind, i t doesnt matter." - Satchel Paige (nemesis, this one specially for you hahahaha =P HAPPY BIRTH DAY! :D) My top 2: "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me.'" - Erma Bombeck "I have held many things in my hands and I have lost them all. But whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess." - Martin Luther Lastly,....on love.... "We&
